Stress at work is always a term that creeps out everyone. Why? Simply put, almost everyone has had it at some point in time, or suffered some form of it. We had previously defined stress in other articles, and we will not do that again, but what we are showing you here is a new perspective about stress at work.
So what is this new perspective? it is in dealing with this stress. In fact, the word stress contains in itself the solutions for handling this problematic situation. How? Simply by checking the first letters of the word stress.
- Sleep well: getting your enough rest can help you with your stress. In fact sleep calms you down, soothers your mindset, and is your escape from your daily issues. It also helps you be energetic for your next day.
- Train: working out at least 3 times per week is the perfect escape. Training has always been promoted to release stress, and boy does it! And i am talking out of not only words i saw somewhere, but out of personal experience. Have a 30 min walk, some cardio, get some swim, or go lift weights. Whatever is your thing, just work out and forget about stressful situations.
- Relax: relaxation is a sure thing to relieve tense body and feelings. Have you tried Yoga before? give it a shot. or just listen to some soft or soothing music, enjoy some time alone, to think about, nothing, or joyful things.
- Enjoy work: Remember you are not at work to feel bad, or to feel you HAVE TO perform this job. Enjoy what you are doing, make it a fun experience (check out our article How to have fun at work)
- Socialize: I am sure if you’re having lots of stress at work, you would have forgotten the meaning of this word! Â Refresh yourself a bit, go out with some friends, visit some family, do some group fun, play a social game (Not talking about facebook games..)
- Seek help: It is okay to seek help to manage stress at work. This is why psychologists and psychiatrists study what they do, to help us manage these things, they might let you out on a secret or two that I missed in here.
Point #5 – socializing – is not talked about enough. Your social ties as a human are REALLY powerful, and are underutilized, especially when it comes to dealing with work stress! I think, however, the key is not to just vent and dwell on challenges, but use the social ties as a way to advance, grow, learn and satisfy your need for social interaction.
