So you are into the Human Resources field, maybe just entering into this exciting HR career (or as Michael Scott from the office describes HR as they “suck the air out of the room they walk into” .. lol, but that’s just Michael Scott), you might be a university student majoring in HR, an HR professional, or someone who just likes to read and happened to stumble upon this article, what matters is that you like grasping knowledge.. and HR knowledge in particular.
Starting back in 2008, I started plunging into the field of HR (coming from a far far away galaxy called Computing), and ever since I fell in love with this field. So I started following some HR blogs to enrich my knowledge of this domain, and to learn how to deal with different work situations, dealing with coworkers, employees, you know the drill.. (this is one of the reason’s this blog – LebHR exists).
So let’s cut to the chase, I’ve been following some blogs that have always fascinated me whether with their style of writing, the information they share, the experience they have, and the ideas that will always widen your spectrum. So you want my advice, you want to succeed in HR or in your work experience, or just have some fun, check out these great blogs (in no specific order):
This has to be the first blog I started following. As we say in French a “chef d’oeuvre” by no other than¬†Jessica Miller-Merrell (@blogging4jobs) that has been managing this blog in 2007, Jessica being an exceptional HR lady with over 12 years of experience, blogger, speaker, author of¬†Tweet This! ¬†Twitter for Business¬†¬†not to mention being the CEO of¬†Xceptional HR. Rayanne Thorn (@ray_anne) is a great contributor to this blog who spices it up and adds great insights to Blogging4Jobs, Rayanne being an international speaker and an amazing blogger.
Once you read this blog, you understand where the name came from. It’s a great blog with a twist, Laurie Ruettimann (@lruettimann) just knows how to get her ideas directly to the audience. She’s an amazing bloggist with over 10 years of HR experience, as she terms herself ¬†“Hard core punk rock pixie of the apocalypse”.
Suzanne Lucas (@RealEvilHRLady), a swiss HR lady that answers HR and employee-related inquiries, but also shares her insights and posts on this great blog. The way she describes her blog is “All HR people are evil, it’s in our job description. Or at least, that seems to be the prevailing theory. In reality, there’s just more going on behind the scenes than most people know.¬†“. Follow this blog to enrich your knowledge, and feel free to shoot Suzanne your questions.
A very resourceful blog for people serious about HR knowledge. More serious than the other blogs, you will find inside original information for HR and Talent Management professionals,  analysis, insights, as well as highlights from other blogs. John Hollon (@johnhollon) is the editor for this blog which you can also follow on twitter under (@tlnt_com)
Another outstanding  blog created by Kris Dunn (@kris_dunn) in 2007 with great contributors such as Jessica Lee, Paul Herbert, Laurie Ruettiman (@lruettimann), Steve Boese (@steveboese), William Tincup (@williamtincup) and many more who combine to provide exceptional HR blog posts that will definitely widen your spectrum.
These are some of the top blogs we follow, we hope they turn out useful to you, and feel free to mention any blogs you find useful or you think others should follow too..
